5 highlights of the Greenbuild Europe experience

Featuring three days of education, inspiration and networking, Greenbuild Europe is a forum for the green building community to unite, change lives and revolutionize business. Participants will address pressing issues such as air quality, human health, energy use and global climate change.

With so much to do and see, we’ve rounded up several highlights to help you get the most out of your conference experience.

1. Expert speakers

Speakers are at the heart of our education and main events. Attendees will hear from a number of other key voices in the green building movement, including:

  • Rick Fedrizzi, Chairman and CEO, International WELL Building Institute
  • Selina Juul, Founder and Chairman of the Board, Stop Wasting Food movement Denmark (Stop Spild Af Mad)
  • Mahesh Ramanujam, President and CEO, USGBC and GBCI

2. Continuing education hours

Attendees will have the opportunity to earn over eight GBCI continuing education (CE) hours through education sessions and plenaries. Earn additional CE hours by attending one of the pre-conference workshops (additional registration required).

  • 4 CE hours | Materials Workshop: An Industry Collaborative Approach to Materials and High-Performing, Healthy Buildings
  • 7 CE hours | LEED and Existing Buildings: Understanding Certification, Performance and the Newest Update to the Rating System—LEED v4.1
  • 3 CE hours | 2018 GRESB RE Assessment Training (introductory)

3. GBCI Certification Work Zone

The GBCI Certification Work Zone will be open Tues., April 17 and Wed., April 18, so you can talk with GBCI staff, reviewers and assessors and discuss questions about specific projects or rating system requirements. Schedule an appointment. ;

Within the work zone, we'll also host Meet the Experts sessions (each worth .5 GBCI CE hours) where you can learn more about the newest developments in LEED and join the conversation on materials.

4. Exam prep

As part of the preconference workshops, Greenbuild Europe will feature a full-day LEED Green Associate session where attendees will learn about the LEED rating system and its credits and prerequisites and will prepare for the professional credential exam. At the end of the course, attendees will receive a certificate of completion and gain access to additional online study tools. This workshop requires separate registration.

5. Networking and celebrations

In addition to the educational opportunities, Greenbuild also serves as a meeting place for those in the green building community to connect, exchange strategies and deliver solutions. The Women in Green breakfast, on the theme "Leading With Purpose," and the opening celebration provide opportunities to connect with your colleagues in the movement.
