The Green Building Certification Institute oversees the development and delivery of the LEED Professional Accreditation Exam, and serves as a resource for the building industry providing access to tools, directories and information.

Q: Why was GBCI created?
A: The Green Building Certification Institute was incorporated to establish an independent organization responsible for administering credentialing programs related to green building practice and standards. Administrative independence is a requirement for all credentialing programs seeking ANSI Accreditation of Personnel Certification Programs under ISO Standard 17024. The transfer of responsibility for the LEED AP program to GBCI is one example of the continuous improvement efforts to ensure the ongoing value and integrity of the LEED AP credential.

Q: What Will Change for Green Building Professionals?
