LEED ND INTRODUCTORY CALL
Project registration for LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) includes an introductory call at no additional cost. The purpose of this call is as follows:
- To obtain general guidance on the LEED for Neighborhood Development 2009 Program
- To review the LEED ND 2009 Certification process
- To provide an opportunity for LEED ND project teams to explain any overarching issues in regard to their project
- To pose inquiries related to the LEED ND Certification process
How to Request an Introductory Call »
- Project teams should contact GBCI to request a one-hour introductory call.
- Project teams will prompted to submit their project number, name, location (address or latitude/longitude coordinates), a short project abstract (250 word maximum), and a project image (site map, vicinity plan, and/or aerial photo) to GBCI. Please limit total file size of all documentation to 3 MB.
- Upon submission of materials, project teams will receive the current schedule of introductory calls. Project teams are assigned to a pre-determined call date and time on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Please allow up to 10 business days after the receipt of project materials for GBCI to assign a call date and time and provide call instructions, a basic agenda, and a description of GBCI call policy and protocol. To reschedule a call, see Policies and Parameters section below. Note that in times of high volume, the assigned date of call could be several weeks from the date of request.
- GBCI will send a reminder to the project administrator no later than five (5) business days before the call.
- Calls will occur on the scheduled date and time.
Introductory Call Policies & Parameters »
- Though strongly recommended, the one-hour introductory call is optional. To maximize the benefits gained from conducting this call, registered project teams are encouraged, but not required, to submit a request for the call within 90 calendar days after project registration. Calls cannot occur after the submission of an SLL Prerequisite Review (if this option is chosen) or initial/subsequent stage review.
- Guidance offered during the one-hour introductory call represents the opinions of GBCI staff and its Reviewers and does not set any precedent to be upheld during a LEED Certification Review. The approval or denial of prerequisites and credits in LEED ND applications are subject to the documentation submitted at the time of certification review only. Compliance with the LEED ND Rating system will not be affirmed during the one-hour introductory call. This call also cannot serve as an alternative to submitting complete and appropriate prerequisite or credit documentation during the review process.
- Any additional documentation beyond a short project abstract (250 words maximum) and a project image will not be considered during the call. All documentation submitted for the call should read clearly, accurately, and concisely.
- The one-hour introductory call cannot serve as a substitute for submitting a project-specific CIR. LEED ND CIRs should be formally submitted through LEED Online.
- Project teams are entitled to only one introductory call per stage submission and calls must be limited to 60 minutes. Additional customer service inquiries can be submitted through GBCI’s customer service webpage
- Project teams must contact GBCI no later than five (5) business days before their scheduled call if they need to reschedule or cancel. A call may be rescheduled only once and will be subject to the next available time and date.
- International projects that cannot meet the pre-scheduled times to conduct the one-hour introductory call due to time zone differences must indicate the need for special accommodations in their original request for a call. Note that call assignments may take slightly longer to accommodate international calls.
- Project teams are strongly encouraged to read through the LEED ND 2009 Reference Guide and Rating System prior to one-hour introductory call.
