APPLICATION FOR SLL PREREQUISITE REVIEW
*Due to the longer scale of the approval and construction of LEED ND projects, GBCI has established expiration terms between the 3 Stages of Approval/Certification. It is strongly recommended all applicants view the LEED Certification Policy Manual and LEED-ND 2009 FAQs for more information.
The Smart Location & Linkage (SLL) Prerequisite Review timeline is available to projects registered for certification under the LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) Rating System. The SLL Prerequisite Review enables project teams to assess the likelihood of achievement of the SLL prerequisites. If successful, the project can advance to a full stage review. If unsuccessful, participation in the LEED ND program can terminate before additional investment is expensed. The requirements for each section of the application for SLL Prerequisite Review are as follows:
- Includes payment of the SLL Prerequisite Review fee at the time of submission. View information for projects larger than 320 acres.
- Includes completed general project information forms
- Includes completed documentation for only SLL Prerequisites
- Can only occur once per project and prior to an initial stage review
- Is optional
- Must be submitted no later than eighteen (18) months following the project registration date
Response to Preliminary SLL Prerequisite Review
All project teams have the option to accept the results of the preliminary SLL Prerequisite Review as final. However, at the discretion of the project team, a response to the preliminary SLL Prerequisite Review may be submitted via LEED Online, provided that it satisfies the following:
- Must occur within twenty (20) business days of receipt of preliminary SLL Prerequisite Review
- Must include revised documentation for any prerequisite and/or project information form marked as 'pending' or 'denied' during the preliminary SLL Prerequisite Review
- Must include revised documentation for any attempted credit marked as 'pending' or 'denied' during the preliminary SLL Prerequisite Review Upon successful completion of a SLL Prerequisite Review, a project’s location is considered LEED ND eligible only. It is not a commitment that a LEED for Neighborhood Development plan approval or project certification will be earned. Projects must complete a successful full stage review to be considered a Conditionally Approved LEED ND Plan (Stage 1), a Pre-Certified LEED ND Plan (Stage 2), or a LEED ND Certified Neighborhood Development (Stage 3).
*Projects registering in 2010 prior to the launch of the full LEED ND 2009 Certification Process will not be required to adhere to the submission deadlines for SLL Prerequisite and Full stage reviews until the full certification process is publicly delivered (currently scheduled for late 2010).
