Biography

NC architect Alicia Ravetto combines her skills as an architectural design expert with her experience in planning energy efficiency, conservation, and clean renewable energy features to design high-performance buildings. Throughout her career, she has been particularly committed to designing buildings that will reduce carbon emissions. Her practice is primarily focused on the design of new custom homes, additions and renovations.

She is accredited as LEED AP BD+C and is a USGBC LEED Faculty. She consults and teaches green building initiatives in NC and the Southeast, and was recently elected a Fellow of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) in recognition of her valued service in advancing the cause of solar energy. Alicia serves as the Chair of the SBIC Technical committee providing advice and review to technical material generated by SBIC. She is also an instructor for Energy 10 workshops.

Alicia lives in an energy-efficient solar home that she and her husband Paul Konove designed and built in 1996.

She holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA where she was a Fulbright Scholar and a professional degree in Architecture from Argentina where she is from. She has received the NC Solar Hall of Fame award for expertise and leadership in education and architectural design of solar buildings; SBIC Best Practices in Sustainability award, the California Building Industry Foundation Award and the Sustainable NC Business award Green Building.
