Alternative Exam Delivery FAQs

What is Alternative Exam Delivery?

Alternative Exam Delivery (AED) is a program offered by GBCI which provides professional exams to groups of people where Prometric test centers are inaccessible. See the Alternative Exam Delivery Event Sponsor Guidelines for more information.

Who is Alternative Exam Delivery for?

AED events are for groups of people, such as students, employees, or other groups who wish to take a GBCI exam in a location other than a Prometric test center. This location must meet strict criteria and be approved by GBCI. See the Alternative Exam Delivery Event Sponsor Guidelines for more information.

Can I apply for AED if I'm not part of a group?

No. AED events are restricted to groups of 25 or more candidates. Individuals wishing to sit for a GBCI exam may schedule an appointment at their nearest Prometric testing center. Visit prometric.com to find the location nearest you.

I want to organize a group to take the exam, but do not have access to a computer lab. Can I still apply?

Yes. Groups may apply to reserve seats at their preferred Prometric test center. Choose the “Prometric test site reservation” option within the Alternative Exam Delivery Event Sponsor Guidelines.

If I’m an AED candidate, will I have to do anything differently when I register for the exam?

Yes. Please follow these steps when registering for your AED exam.
