GBCI Noida office: A spotlight in sustainability

The GBCI office in Noida is the corporate head office for GBCI India, which provides on-the-ground customer support for regional green building and business project teams in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. When pursuing LEED certification at the Noida office, GBCI set out to establish a benchmark for sustainability. The resulting 4,265 square foot LEED Platinum certified office building earned 90 points under the LEED v4 Commercial Interiors (CI) rating system, making it one of the highest-rated Platinum projects under the LEED v4 CI rating system in the region, and stands as a model for what it means to be LEED Platinum.

The office stands in the heart of the city, well serviced by various modes of public transportation. The strategic location of the office provides for a walkable environment connecting to multiple diverse uses. Plus, a well transit-served location also helps reduce the office's parking requirement. The GBCI Noida office also demonstrates its commitment toward water efficiency through installation of low-flow fixtures and offsetting the water demand for flushing and gardening through non-potable water use.

Efficient ventilation system design helps the office achieve 35% reduction in energy costs, and Occupancy Sensors and Daylight Sensors have been installed to ensure further energy savings. Moving beyond efficient design, the space was engaged in the purchase of RECs and Green Power through renewable contract to offset 100% of electricity consumption and CO2 emissions. The GBCI Noida office is committed to retaining and improving its performance over time by continuous monitoring of energy and water consumption.

GBCI firmly believes that occupants are the main assets in a space. The Noida office demonstrates its commitment to the environment and human health through responsible building material and furniture selection, lighting design and HVAC design.
