China is second largest market in the world for LEED green building

27 September 2018 (Shanghai, China) – The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) will host Greenbuild, the world’s largest green building conference experience in Shanghai, China on 23-24 October 2018. Greenbuild China will take place at the LEED Platinum Shanghai Tower, which is the tallest building in China.

“China is making rapid progress and is solidifying its place among the world's top markets for cost-effective and environmentally friendly structures,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president & CEO, USGBC. “China is the world's second-largest market for LEED-certified projects. The practices we celebrate and advance at Greenbuild China remind us that our success as sustainability advocates, practitioners and professionals is more than a mission, it is a responsibility.”

Greenbuild China features educations sessions, an opening plenary, networking lunches, Women in Green - USGBC’s signature event for women leaders in the green building industry, green building tours, new products and innovative green building technology.

“This year’s Greenbuild theme is Human by Nature,” said Andy To, managing director, GBCI North Asia. “It represents how the green building community embraces all of humanity by making sustainable buildings and environments accessible to everyone, and in doing so, improves everyone’s standard of living.”
