USGBC, Wanda Commercial Properties Co., Ltd. and the U.S.–China Energy Cooperation Program (ECP) have jointly organized the first WBIM International Digitalization Award in China, with strategic support from Autodesk (China). The WBIM Award was officially launched on August 18 in Beijing.
Gathered to celebrate were many distinguished guests and institutions, including the leaders of Wanda, USGBC, ECP, Autodesk, CSCEC, the U.S. Embassy in China, BSI, Microsoft, IBM, Graphisoft, the University of Nottingham and Chinese local AEC companies. Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO of USGBC and GBCI, gave a speech at the event.
Themed "Light Up the Future from 0 to 1," the WBIM Award will establish an open, inclusive and equitable international communication platform for the digital technology and its application in the construction industry. It will gather the leading experts and outstanding enterprises from all over the world, establishing a major annual festival for the industry.
USGBC entered into a strategic partnership with green building leader Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties in China on June 7, with a commitment to advancing smart, sustainable, healthy and high-performing buildings, communities and cities across China, and serving as a model for public and private sector decision makers.
The launch of the first WBIM International Digitalization Award in China reflects the strong partnership between the two organizations in building future green building technology and determination to fulfill their commitment to China market.
The whole program will last for nine months, including the launch ceremony, road shows, BIM summit forums and seminars with various themes. Hundreds of industrial institutions and enterprises from building technology will be invited to compete for the WBIM Award.
